Aluminum (As a Health Hazard)

Since at least the 1930's, aluminum has been alleged to be a health hazard. Studies since the 1980's have shown that aluminum is associeted with, and may contribute to, Alzheimer's Disease in some way. And it seems that it is not merely a coincidence that the incidence of Alzheimer's has increased greatly, along with the increase in the use of aluminum cookware since the 1950's. In fact, because of this concern, several European countries have banned the use of aluminum cookware.

TTD/QTBA/FU:

1. What cultures of the world have a very low incidence of Alzheimer's Disease and what can account for this?

2. What is the incidence of Alzheimer's in countries worldwide, and what can account for the differences?

3. Are there any Alzheimer's hotspots in the world, and why?

4. What was that fresh-water mussle that had a toxin that caused "instant Alzheimer's"? Maybe the mussle was concentrating aluminum in the ambient water that came from an industrial source.

5. What is the Alzheimer's-like disease that is prevalent in Guam, where a certain ore has been mined for years, and has almost destroyed the entire island?

6. What countries of the world have banned aluminum cookware, and what are the studies on which they based their legislation to ban such cookware?
