International Nicholas Roerich Society (INRS)

Welcome to the International Nicholas Roerich Society (INRS), an organization dedicated to the research and study of Nicholas Roerich, his life, his works of art, his exploratory expeditions, and his research and writings on archaeology, botany, philosophy, and other subjects.

Mission:

To promote interest in, and research on the life of Nicholas Roerich and his legacy; To encourage the preservation of his writings, papers, and paintings, and to make them available to the world via the Internet, as much as possible, within the copyright laws; To enable and promote the collaboration of scholars, students, researchers, and other people interested in Nicholas Roerich and his works; To promote the establishment of branches of the International Nicholas Roerich Society (INRS) in the United States and countries around the world;

Membership

Membership in the INRS is open to serious scholars, researchers, students, and others anywhere in the world who have an interest in the life and works of Nicholas Roerich.

 

Objectives:

1. To identify all books, articles, and other writings, published and unpublished, done by Nicholas Roerich and to preserve such writings and make them available to the world;

2. To identify all books and articles published anywhere in the workd, and in any language, related to or about Nicholas Roerich, his life, research, explorations, and legacy, and to create and maintain a comprehensive bibliography of all such writings that exist and are published in the future;

3. To translate all of the books and articles into English, French, and other languages as necessary, so that researchers worldwide can read and make use of these writings;

4. To create a mechanism whereby such books and articles related to the life and legacy of Nicholas Roerich can be easily obtained by researchers;

5. For collaboration and cooperation purposes, to identify all people, research organizations, societies, and others in the world with an interest in Nicholas Roerich, his life, and legacy;

6. To establish a newsletter to report the activities of the INRS and its members.

7. To establish a scholarly journal to provide a platform for the publication of articles about or related to Nicholas Roerich, his life and legacy;
