Professor Scriven is particularly interested in the theoretical and philosophical implications of parapsychology, and in research in psychokinesis and various spontaneous phenomena. His articles on parapsychological subjects include "Modern Experiments in Telepathy" (Philosophical Review, Apr., 1956); "New Experimental Designs for Psi Research" (Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, June, 1956); "Some Theoretical Possibilities in Psi Research" (Journal of the SPR, June, 1957); "Randomness and the Casual Order" (Analysis, October, 1956); "Extrasensory Perception" (American Peoples Encyclopedia, 1956); and reviews of books on parapsychology in Contemporary Psychology.
