How do you find all the people who live in a givin city or zip code?

Strangely LinkedIn does not offer a search by city in any country of the world, but only by zip code for the United states.

How do I find all the LinkedIn people who live in a given country?

Click on the "Advanced" button on the right side of the search box at top. That will take you to a page with many options. On the left side >> Location >>Click on the down arrow >> Click on "Located in or Near" >> Country >> pull down the menu that shows every country and territory in the word >> select the country of interest >> click on the search button in the lower left. That will show you all of the people and groups in a given country. To get back to "Anywhere", click "reset" next to the search button.

How do you locate a particular person?

Log in, because you can't refine searches or do much of anything else, if you are not logged in. The type the person's name in the searech box at the top of the LinkedIn page. That will give you everybody in the world with that name, but on the left side they give you filters by country and some cities. If you don't know the city for sure, but do know the state, then in the "+ Add" box at the bottom of the locations, type in the state. It won't produce a list of results for a given state, on the big screen, but it will show you in a pull-down menu all of the cities that have a person in that city who is registered with LinkedIn. So just click on the city and it will give you relts for that. If there is more than one city, such as several suburbs of a city you know they live near, then you have to try each city name in that area.

What is the value of a premium LinkedIn account over a regular account?

For one, you can look at some summaries, but you can't see their connections, and you can't do a lot of other things. It also says in the descrption of LinkedIn plans: Full Profiles allowed for various plans: Premium Plans: See full profiles of everyone in your network - 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree. Limited  (free) Plan: Up to 2nd Degree only.

What is the meaning of the various degrees and categories of people, and the ability to connect to each category?

On LinkedIn, people in your network are called connections. Your network is made up of your 1st-degree, 2nd-degree, 3rd-degree connections, and fellow members of your LinkedIn groups.

1st-degree - People you're directly connected to because you've accepted their invitation to connect, or they've accepted your invitation. You'll see a 1st degree icon next to their name in search results and on their profile. You can contact them by sending a message on LinkedIn.

2nd-degree - People who are connected to your 1st-degree connections. You'll see a 2nd degree icon next to their name in search results and on their profile. You can send them an invitation by clicking Connect or contact them through an InMail.

3rd-degree - People who are connected to your 2nd-degree connections. You'll see a 3rd degree icon next to their name in search results and on their profile.

If their full first and last names are displayed, you can send them an invitation by clicking Connect.

If only the first letter of their last name is displayed, clicking Connect is not an option, but you can still contact them through an InMail.

Fellow members of your LinkedIn Groups - These people are considered part of your network because you're members of the same group. You'll see a Group icon next to their name in search results and on their profile. You can contact them by sending a message on LinkedIn or using your group's discussion feature.

Out of Network - LinkedIn members who fall outside of the categories listed above. You can contact them through an InMail.

How are your connections arranged when you click on your connections, and how can you arrange them alphabetically by last name or first name?
